GreenMascot Completes Regional Survey with 60 Contributions from Four Countries

The GreenMascot project, co-funded by the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme, has successfully completed its regional survey dedicated to identifying good practices that link sport with environmental sustainability in the Black Sea Basin.

The survey gathered 60 submissions from organisations in all four partner countries, confirming strong regional interest in using sport as a driver for environmental education and pollution reduction. The collected contributions represent a wide range of stakeholders, including universities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), local and regional authorities, sports organisations, schools, sports clubs and community initiatives.

The diversity of respondents highlights the growing role of sport as a cross-sectoral tool for promoting sustainable behaviour and environmental responsibility. The collected practices will now undergo a detailed analysis by the project partnership.

Based on this analysis, selected initiatives will be invited to participate in in-depth interviews and contribute to further project activities, including an international workshop in Constanța, Romania, aimed at exchanging experience and strengthening cooperation across the Black Sea region.

The results of the survey will directly support the development of the GreenMascot project’s next outputs, contributing to greener, more sustainable and more responsible sport practices in the region.
