The GreenMascot project continues to build a strong foundation for promoting environmental sustainability in and through sport across the Black Sea Basin by transforming collected good practices into practical knowledge and policy-relevant insights.
The practices identified through the project’s research activities will be used to support local authorities, sports organisations and educational institutions in developing more environmentally responsible approaches to sport. By analysing how sport can influence behaviour related to waste management, mobility, resource use and environmental awareness, GreenMascot aims to translate experience into action-oriented guidance.
The collected knowledge will directly contribute to the development of upcoming project outputs, including capacity-building activities, training formats and awareness-raising initiatives. Special attention will be given to the transferability and scalability of the practices, ensuring that successful approaches can be adapted to different local contexts across the region.
Through this process, GreenMascot reinforces the role of sport not only as a physical activity, but also as a powerful communication and education tool supporting greener communities and stronger cross-border cooperation in the Black Sea Basin.
